Stock flags and cart changes: what happens when a line moves
An item is either on the shelf or out. An out item cannot be added to the cart. The cart lives in your browser, and each time it loads it is checked against the desk's current list: a line that has come off the list is removed, and a line whose box price changed takes the new price, with a note at the top of the cart either way.
On the shelf, or out
Every item page and every stock sheet shows whether a box can be ordered. When it cannot, the item page's button reads Not available to order and stays greyed out. The item keeps its page, its figures and its place on the manifest, so it can be checked and compared while it is out.
Right now 172 of 174 items are on the shelf and 2 are out.
Why a cart line can change
Nothing is set aside while boxes sit in a cart. Your browser keeps the cart, and each time it opens it checks every line's current price and minimum with the desk. Two things can follow:
- A line that is no longer on the desk's list is taken out, and a note at the top of the cart names it.
- A line whose box price has changed takes the new price; the note names the line so the change is not missed.
A printed quote keeps the figures of the day it was printed, so it can differ from the cart a week later. The price that counts is the one on the order when you place it; from then on it does not move.
Minimum box counts
Most items sell from one box. Where an item has a higher minimum, the item page says so under the order button, the box field cannot go below it, and the cart lifts any smaller quantity to the minimum when it is checked.
When an item you need is out
Check the stock sheet for the same compound: another box size may be on the shelf. The desk can also be asked on WhatsApp or by email, through the desk page, whether a line is expected back; it gives no date it cannot keep.
